| Acrylic Painting Supply List |
Paints: Due to the wide quality variations and inconsistent colour labelling between the many brands of artists acrylic paint,
I have prepared four lists of different brand names so students will have some budget flexibility and some choice in suppliers. Please note that
heavier bodied (high viscosity) paints are generally easier to work with on the whole and can be "thinned" with appropriate mediums to attain
similar effects as the lower viscosity paints; this does not work the other way around. However, heavy bodied paints are often more expensive,
usually because of their more intense pigment loading, and so the student will need to use their own discernment as to what their budget will allow.
Generally, the rule is, buy the best quality paint you can afford. |
